My original
plans for the cover photo where not too big a part of the finished product, because I
did not have the model that I wanted, because he was unavailable due to bad
communication. I got another friend to step in, but we had a limited wardrobe
of clothes to choose from, and personally, I think her attitude and looks would be
completely wrong considering the original VALS that I had thought of for the
Artist.
I had to
take the photo shoot as soon as possible, so the poses were a bit improvised,
but they look casual in a way that I think fit the artist’s VALS. I tried to
make some distorted versions of the images, (as shown below) to fit to the original idea, by
layering them and moving them around, but I decided it did not fit the magazine.
In addition, it think the original idea might have resulted in a cover photo
that would have been off-putting, as there would not have been any connection
between the cover photo and the reader, like there is when the model is holding
a direct gaze. I added some of the photos I thought were good to this post.
